Nutritional Counseling
It has been said that you are what you eat. In many ways, that statement still holds true. Eating junk results in a junky body. What we put into our body controls how our body works (or not). Overall, ‘diets’ as we know them don’t work. To be healthy, we have to understand that food is fuel not our entertainment or pleasure. Diets need to be exchanged for lifestyle changes. A lifestyle of eating healthy creates a body that reflects health from the inside out.
Processed foods, sugar, many carbohydrates, and other junk not only are void of nutrients for your body, but also will leave you wanting more. It is proven that sugar causes a plethora of health issues from diabetes to heart disease to cancer. Eliminating foods that are processed and have sugar is a great first step in your health, but it isn't the only step. There are a handful of changes that will make a drastic improvement to how your body is functioning. Here are some general tips: cut out grains, eliminate sugars (including fruits other than berries and granny smith apples), increase good fats (like nuts, avocados and coconut oil) and keep up on the good, clean proteins (like grass-fed/pasture raised).
When your body is lacking vital nutrients it will tell you through symptoms such as:
-headaches
-food cravings
-unexplained weight gain
-being chronically tired
-getting sick often
-and even depression or anxiety
